What is the largest thing in the universe? Your IMAGINATION.

When Yuri Gagarin returned from his historic first spaceflight, he explained:
“Circling the Earth in my orbital spaceship I marveled at the beauty of our planet. People of the world, let us safeguard and enhance this beauty — not destroy it!”
This year's Yuri's Night celebration at NASA Ames was no less than spectacular. The theme for 2008 was Radical Technology for a Sustainable Future. In addition, it was NASA's 50th anniversary and the anniversary of the launch of the first space shuttle!

NASA Ames opened two hangars and the tarmac this year to welcome 8000 attendees, being the LARGEST Yuri's Night celebration in the world! The event was dedicated to the memory of Sir Arthur C. Clarke.

Just a few of the local and international artists were: Amon Tobin (Montreal), Lusine (Seattle), Scuba (UK), Digitonal vs. Posthuman (UK), [a]pendics.shuffle (LA), Deru (Merck, LA), Zoë Keating: avant garde looping celloTycho (Ghostly, Merck), and Freezepop (Boston).
